Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a dedicated psychiatric care aide to join our overnight team. Working under an RN, you will provide therapeutic care, monitor patient conditions, and assist with daily activities to ensure safety and comfort.

You will participate in admissions/discharges, maintain infection-control protocols, and support patients and families as part of a collaborative care approach. A relevant degree or nursing program enrollment is required for this full-time role.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher in human services or science is preferred.
• Current nursing program student with mental health clinical rotation completed is acceptable.
• High school diploma with healthcare direct patient care experience meets requirements.
• Relevant experience in human services or hospital settings is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Observes patients’ behavior, documents condition and services provided.
• Leads patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Assists with admitting, transporting and discharging patients.
• Helps with activities of daily living (eating, bathing).
• Restraints patients when necessary to ensure safety.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and health care regulations.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and infection-control protocols.
• Performs other related duties as required.
