McLaren Health Care is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Associate / Nurse Assistant for the Geri Psych department. You will assist with daily patient care, support families, and help maintain a safe, respectful unit environment in collaboration with registered nurses.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, feeding, dressing, hygiene, mobility, and daily activities while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality care.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two+ years’ experience as a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant.
• BLS certification from recognized bodies is required before start date and valid beyond start date.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years’ experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date

Preferred

• State Certified Nursing Assistant
• Basic EMT Certification
• LPN License
