Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers seeks a Medication Technician to assist residents with daily living and to administer medications under licensed staff supervision, ensuring safety and documentation.

Requires state registry certification within 120 days, ability to lift 30 pounds, strong organizational skills, and English communication. CPR/First Aid preferred; LNA in the state is a plus. Benefits include PTO, tuition reimbursement, and insurance options.

Qualifications

• Must be certified on state registry as a Medication Technician within 120 days of employment.
• Ability to frequently lift and transfer up to 30 pounds of resident weight throughout the shift.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop and twist during an 8‑hour shift.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform sequential tasks.
• Motivation to work with geriatric residents.
• Must communicate effectively in English to carry out care plans.
• CPR certification and basic First Aid preferred.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant in the state where care is provided is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and promote independence.
• Assist and record medications as ordered by the physician.
• Confidential handling of resident information and adherence to policies.
• Assist with personal hygiene and linen care; make beds.
• Support resident nutrition during meals and snacks.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the Head Nurse.
• Participate in planning resident care and document care plans.
• Promote activities of daily living per service plan.
• Conduct lifts and transfers per service plan and Lift Free Program.
• Prepare and administer medications and monitor changes in condition.
