Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Medication Technician to assist residents with medications and daily care in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. The role focuses on promoting independence, safety, and quality of life for residents in a compassionate, compliant environment.

The position requires adherence to state regulations and facility procedures, with opportunities to contribute to medication records, ADLs support, and teamwork with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must meet all state-specific requirements for medication administration or medication assistance in an Assisted Living setting.
• Medication Technician certification, training, or delegation requirements must be maintained as required by applicable state regulations.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required based on facility policy.
• Previous experience in Assisted Living, senior living, memory care, or a similar healthcare environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medication administration procedures accurately.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and personal care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of resident medications in accordance with physician orders, established procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, medication reactions, or other concerns and promptly report them to the appropriate nurse or supervisor.
• Ensure medications are properly stored, secured, and handled according to facility procedures.
• Assist with medication ordering, refills, and inventory as assigned.
• Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and other personal care needs as appropriate.
• Respond promptly and compassionately to resident requests and needs.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and follow HIPAA and facility privacy requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and facility operations.
