Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers seeks a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents in daily living and medication management. Responsibilities include administering medications, observing resident conditions, and reporting changes to the Head Nurse, while upholding confidentiality and care plans.

This role emphasizes safety during lifts and transfers and participation in care planning within a warm geriatric setting.

Qualifications

• Must be certified on state registry as a Medication Technician within 120 days of employment.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 pounds multiple times per shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and twist for an 8-hour shift.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform sequential tasks.
• CPR certification and basic First Aid preferred.
• LNA in the state where care is provided is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence.
• Administer and record medications as ordered by the physician.
• Observe, record, and report changes in resident condition to the Head Nurse.
• Participate in planning resident care and implement the service plan.
• Promote daily living activities according to the resident's service plan.
• Lift and transfer residents according to the service plan and Lift Free Program.
