Job summary

Dodge County Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit (New Directions). This PRN/night shift position involves comprehensive nursing care for geriatric patients with psychiatric conditions, including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The role requires an active Georgia nursing license, BLS (preferred), and prior gero-psychiatric experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in gero-psychiatric care preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a Georgia license.
• Successful completion of hospital medication administration evaluation.
• Ability to perform all essential duties after three-month orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to geriatric psychiatric patients.
• Perform nursing assessments and reassessments per policy.
• Conduct psychiatric interviews and monitor patient behavior.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with interdisciplinary input.
• Administer medications and observe patient responses.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and medications.
