Dodge County Hospital invites applications for a Mental Health Tech on a PRN night shift, 7pm–7am with some weekend work. The role supports geriatric behavioral health patients, aiding nursing staff, documenting care, and ensuring patient safety and dignity in a structured setting.

The position emphasizes patient monitoring, basic nursing tasks, and collaboration with the treatment team, with orientation and ongoing required training.

Competenze

• Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification.
• Successful completion of a basic competency check list.
• Ability to proficiently perform all essential job responsibilities after three-month orientation period.
• Requires 5 basic units of DCH education units per year.
• Requires DCH mandatory annual training.
• Ability to read, legibly write, and comprehend medical terminology, follow instructions, and perform simple mathematical calculations.

• Performs patient care responsibilities considering geriatrics needs.
• Assists in admission preparation.
• Provides morning care including hygiene, dressing, and linen changes.
• Provides evening care including washing and linen changes.
• Assists LPNs in treatment procedures.
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning and mobilization.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake-output.
• Communicates with team leaders and physicians.
• Maintains patient dignity, confidentiality, and respectful care.
• Performs other duties as assigned within CAN scope of practice.
