Job summary

Dodge County Hospital is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Tech for the New Directions geriatric behavioral health unit. The position is full-time with a night shift (7pm-7am), including some weekend work.

You will support nursing staff, assist in patient care, document care activities, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for elderly patients. Responsibilities include assisting with admission preparation, morning and evening care, and collaboration with the treatment team to

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of a basic competency checklist.
Ability to perform essential duties after a three-month orientation.
Requires DCH mandatory annual training.
Ability to read, write clearly, and comprehend medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Performs patient care responsibilities considering geriatric needs.
Assists in admission preparation.
Provides morning care (bed, bath, dressing, oral hygiene).
Assists LPNs in treatment procedures.
Positioning patients and assisting with ambulation.
Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, BP, and intake-output.
Maintains safety and adherence to nursing policies and procedures.
