Job summary

The LPN (Nights) at Dodge County Hospital’s New Directions unit provides direct nursing care to geriatric patients with psychiatric and cognitive health needs under RN supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring, administering medications within scope, assisting with daily living activities, and documenting changes in patient status to support individualized treatment plans.

Applicants should have proven LPN experience, strong teamwork, and knowledge of hospital terminology.

Qualifications

Proven experience as LPN or similar role.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with hospital health and safety standards.
Understanding of confidentiality and nursing best practices.
Knowledge of medical/hospital terminology.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to geriatric patients with psychiatric or behavioral health needs.
Monitor and document patients' physical and behavioral conditions.
Administer medications within LPN scope of practice and observe for adverse effects.
Assist with activities of daily living and treatment plan adherence.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team under RN supervision.
