Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and directing quality programs for patients. The role ensures recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met in compliance with laws and Life Care standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred experience with geriatrics and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, education).
• Chart patient progress and behavior descriptively.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Make in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function on an interdisciplinary team.
