Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and directing activities for patients. The role focuses on meeting recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs in accordance with Life Care standards and applicable laws.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience with geriatrics is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education)
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior
• Escort patients to and from activities
• Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
