Job summary

Brightcore Energy is seeking a Geothermal Driller assistant to support drilling operations in the greater Baltimore area. You will work with the Geothermal Driller to set up and operate equipment, monitor performance, and maintain records for safety and quality.

The role requires travel across the Northeast region, a valid CDL, OSHA 30, and experience with geothermal systems. Hybrid work options are available, with OT as necessary."

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• OSHA 30; SST card and Flagger certification strongly preferred.
• Must have an active Driver's License with the ability to obtain CDL.
• Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
• Understands and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
• 5+ years of construction and/or drilling experience (NGWA certification preferred).
• Experience with geothermal heat pumps.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead driller in daily drilling operations, including setting up and operating drilling equipment.
• Monitor and maintain equipment during the drilling process, ensuring it is functioning properly and troubleshooting when necessary.
• Handle and prepare drilling tools, pipes, and other equipment for use during operations.
• Transport equipment and materials to and from the drill site as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure the worksite is organized and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in the operation of mud systems, pressure control equipment, and other drilling-related systems.
• Keep accurate records of daily drilling activities, including work progress, downtime, and equipment performance.
• Support the team with general labor tasks, such as setting up rig structures, managing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment.
• Ensure that the proper safety and environmental standards are met during all phases of drilling operations.
• Communicate effectively with the drilling team and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
