CTL|Thompson, Inc. in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer for full-time employment.

The position focuses on soil exploration and foundation investigations for commercial, residential, and municipal projects. Responsibilities include drilling, geotechnical investigations, soil evaluations, pavement design, and logging borings, with preparation of client deliverables under supervision of a senior engineer.

Qualifications

• B.S. in civil, geotechnical or related engineering field.
• EIT designation or ability to obtain it within 6 months.
• 0-5 years of relative engineering experience.
• At least 6 months of experience in an Engineering Field Technician position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies involving geotechnical investigations foundation, slope stability, pavement design and earth retention.
• Perform testing and sampling on various geotechnical materials.
• Prepare project documents and deliverables for clients.
• Log borings for geotechnical studies.
• Develop engineering recommendations for review by a senior engineer.
• Use relevant software to aid with project analysis.
• Perform and review field and lab tests for use in engineering analysis and reports.
• Plan field and subsurface investigations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
