Job summary

CTL|Thompson, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer for our Fort Collins, CO office. The role involves soil exploration, foundation investigations, drilling programs, and geotechnical studies for commercial, residential, and municipal projects.

Responsibilities include preparing deliverables, logging borings, and developing engineering recommendations under supervision, with opportunities to use AutoCAD and other analysis software. Eligible candidates should have a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in civil, geotechnical or related engineering field.
• EIT designation or ability to obtain it within 6 months for employees who have a qualifying engineering discipline degree.
• 0-5 years of relative engineering experience.
• At least 6 months of experience in an Engineering Field Technician position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations including foundation, slope stability, pavement design and earth retention.
• Perform testing and sampling on geotechnical materials.
• Prepare project documents and deliverables for clients.
• Log borings for geotechnical studies.
• Develop engineering recommendations for review by a senior engineer.
• Use relevant software to aid with project analysis.
• Perform and review field and lab tests for engineering analysis and reports.
• Plan field and subsurface investigations.
• Attend project meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
