Job summary

CTL|Thompson, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Project Engineer for our Montrose, CO office. The role focuses on managing complex design projects with commercial, residential, and municipal structures.

You will plan, analyze, and design geotechnical components, review designs, and use software for analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 5+ years of experience, and can obtain licensure in related states.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of experience within specified field.
• Current Professional Engineer License in the state of employment or ability to obtain a license in 6 months of employment.
• Licensure in other States as required.
• Experience with AutoCAD and engineering analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct engineering service and project management with full understanding of in-house project management tools and delegate tasks.
• Perform engineering analysis on residential, commercial, and municipal projects to provide recommendations to clients.
• Prepare and check structural design calculations, models and plans.
• Consider material strengths and select appropriate construction methods.
• Design structures utilizing steel, timber and reinforced concrete.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop coordinated designs.
• Log borings for geotechnical studies and perform field and lab tests for analysis and reports.
• Plan field and subsurface investigations and prepare proposals and technical reports.
