Job summary

GeoEngineers in Boise, ID is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to lead field exploration programs, conduct analyses, and manage projects from budgeting to client communications. You will coordinate field staff, perform construction observations, and ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.

This role also involves mentoring junior staff, preparing technical reports with figures and tables, and leading slope stabilization and foundation design efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • At least one year of project management experience.
  • PE license required.
  • Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or coordinate the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects.
  • Assist with training junior technical and technician staff.
  • Complete engineering analyses and calculations including: pavement design, slope stability, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and seismic design.
  • Lead the generation of technical reports including completion of routine reports, figures, tables, etc.; Assist senior staff in completing portions of large, complex reports, figures, tables, etc.
  • Lead the generation of construction plans and specifications for slope stabilization, soil nail walls, soldier pile and tieback walls, and ground improvement projects.
  • Lead project management tasks such as attending project meetings, budget and schedule planning, staffing and task assignments, deliverable preparation, and proposal development.
