Job summary

GeoEngineers in Boise, ID is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer responsible for field exploration, observation of earthwork and foundation construction, and geotechnical analyses including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, and seismic evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required for Staff Engineers.
• Internship or experience in geotechnical engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; 1 year of driving experience in the United States (international driving experience considered).
• Proven problem solving and professional-level verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction on projects of various sizes.
• Prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses (slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundations, seismic evaluation).
• Gather field data and samples; coordinate testing as needed.
• Support geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
