Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company in the steel reinforcement industry, seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support design-build solutions and RAP systems. You’ll work with area managers and licensee teams to perform analyses, prepare design reviews, and deliver technical presentations.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in geotechnical/structural engineering, knowledge of soil mechanics, and proficiency with AutoCAD and geotechnical software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in geotechnical/structural engineering.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and loading conditions.
• Experience reading project documents and drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and drive deliverables from concept to closure.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and geotechnical software including SLIDE, SLOPE-W, Settle 3D.

Responsibilities

• Provide project-specific technical guidance for Geopier design-build solutions.
• Collaborate with Area Managers to perform engineering analyses and design reviews.
• Prepare or review calculations and establish engineering direction on projects with limited supervision.
• Support RAP design review by performing slope stability analyses.
• Assist in troubleshooting construction challenges and design issues.
• Review and approve RAP and other system designs.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations at meetings and workshops.
