Job summary

Langan is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer in Parsippany, NJ to provide geotechnical analysis and design for power generation and transmission projects. You will supervise staff engineers, interact with clients, and support project management across small to large geotechnical assignments.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical reporting, and collaboration to deliver robust solutions within grid resilience initiatives. A PE license and extensive geotechnical experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree with Geotechnical emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure required.
• 6+ years of geotechnical experience in energy (power and transmission).
• 3+ years field experience with geotechnical investigations and foundation construction observations.
• Experience writing technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations; client and project management.
• Strong knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in quantitative/technical analyses and related software.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and business development skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses, design pile elements and underpinning systems, and conduct inspections.
• Prepare technical documents and manage proposals, reports, construction documents, and correspondences.
• Supervise field investigations, earthwork, and foundation construction activities.
• Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Plan, schedule, develop task/project budgets; prepare progress reports and invoices.
• Perform other duties as requested.
