Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our North America–facing team. You will contribute to geo-structural design, foundation and retaining system analyses, and support design-build delivery on major energy projects.

You will lead analyses, collaborate with civil, structural, and construction groups, and mentor junior engineers while visiting project sites as needed. A PE license and advanced geotechnical expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
• Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision in a small to medium office.
• Familiarity with specialized geotechnical software listed in tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute geo-structural engineering tasks and analyses.
• Design deep foundations and retaining structures.
• Oversee analyses performed by other staff or project professionals.
• Model soil and rock slopes using limit equilibrium and finite element methods.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams across projects.
• Manage field subcontractor activities and testing.
• Develop written reports and communicate findings to project leadership.
• Occasionally visit project sites across North America.
• Engage in sector-focused professional organizations and events.
