Job summary

Civil and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Geotechnical Engineer - Principal to lead the Geotechnical Engineering Practice. You will guide projects from concept to construction, mentor staff, develop client relationships, and manage proposals and budgets.

You will collaborate with senior leadership in a 100% employee-owned firm and contribute to business development, technical excellence, and career growth across the geotechnical team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of consulting geotechnical engineering experience.
• PE license (Professional Engineer) required.
• Ability to coordinate, manage, supervise, mentor, and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and supervise geotechnical subsurface investigations for civil design and waste/landfill projects.
• Lead staff, monitor drilling, sample collection, logging, testing programs, and reporting.
• Mentor engineers and project managers; support business development and client growth.
• Recruit and develop staff; partner with senior management on career development and leadership.
