Job summary

WSP USA in Portland, OR seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical & Tunneling Team. You will plan and manage subsurface investigations, lead design and analysis for tunnels, bridges, and foundations, and develop geotechnical reports.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with engineers and regulators, and coordinate geotechnical work across the Pacific Northwest. A PE license is required with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
  • 10+ years in geotechnical engineering.
  • US PE registration or reciprocity eligibility.
  • Extensive experience with highway/bridge/building/underground projects.
  • Experience in geotechnical reports and contract documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-leadership and interpersonal skills with clients and regulators.
  • Willingness to travel and perform field work occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage geotechnical subsurface investigation programs.
  • Lead geotechnical analyses and design for infrastructure projects.
  • Develop/review geotechnical memoranda, reports, and design docs.
  • Develop/review plans, specs, cost estimates, and contracts.
  • Manage projects, budgets, hours, and subcontractors.
  • Provide support during construction and mentor staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on projects and proposals.
  • Coordinate geotechnical work across the Pacific Northwest and US.
