Job summary

Langan International, LLC is seeking an Intern – Geotechnical Engineer to join our Cleveland, OH team. You will support diverse geotechnical projects, assist with field investigations, data collection, and calculations, and gain exposure to reports, designs, and project coordination with leadership.

Ideal candidates are students pursuing a 4-year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, with coursework in geotechnical topics, good GPA, and proficient AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• A student actively pursuing a 4-year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Geotechnical coursework preferred;
• GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to work independently and in a team; Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations; log borings and test pits, collect samples, perform field tests, record data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork activities; ensure conformance with plans and specs.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare logs, field forms, logs, and chain of custody records.
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
• Learn engineering analyses and geotechnical software; perform basic calculations.
• Prepare report exhibits, figures, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analyses.
• Perform other duties as requested.
