Job summary

Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Geotechnical Engineering to join its collaborative team in San Francisco, CA. This role provides hands-on experience with geotechnical projects, including fieldwork, report preparation and calculations, and exposure to design plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a 4-year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or greater preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitor conformance with plans and specifications.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and/or laboratory problems.
• Prepare standard logs and field forms, logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs.
• Conduct site reconnaissance, document searches, and perform basic engineering calculations.
