Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform geotechnical and construction engineering technician inspection and testing duties as a casual-on-call employee on short and long-term projects in various locations.

Candidates will support a broader geotechnical engineering and construction services team by completing geotechnical laboratory testing, overseeing subsurface exploration activities, and performing construction inspection to document field work in accordance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; AS/BS in related field highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in construction inspection and testing with soils, concrete, and bituminous paving.
• ACI soil or concrete testing certification and Michigan certification desired or ability to obtain.
• Resident Engineering experience a plus.
• Willingness to travel on temporary assignments including field work.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical and construction inspection and testing duties on various projects.
• Support geotechnical laboratory testing and oversee subsurface exploration activities.
• Document construction activities to ensure conformance with plans and specs.
• Perform materials testing for soils and concrete, including foundation subgrade and soil density testing, plus field and laboratory testing.
