Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Practice Manager to lead our North American geotechnical team, drive growth, and deliver high-quality projects. The role emphasizes mentorship, client development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to meet SLR’s standards for excellence.

You will oversee engagement with clients, prepare scopes of work and proposals, and guide a multinational team to provide innovative geotechnical solutions across North America.

Qualifications

• 20+ years' experience as a Geotechnical Engineer
• Experience managing projects and teams across geographies
• Proven leadership in technical consulting or professional services
• Strong business development and client management skills
• Ability to develop practice-level business plans and outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Willingness to travel within the US and Canada

Responsibilities

• Lead the Geotechnical Engineering practice with authenticity and vigour
• Drive growth aligning with market trends and opportunities
• Manage project backlog, financial KPIs, and risk
• Provide mentorship and staff leadership within the geotechnical team
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and promote knowledge sharing
• Engage with clients to drive brand awareness and market share
• Ensure high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction
• Travel within US and Canada to engage with the team
