Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Practice Manager to lead our North American geotechnical team. You will provide technical and operational leadership, develop scopes of work, proposals, and deliver projects to high standards, coordinating across disciplines and geographies.

The role emphasizes growth, mentoring, client-focused delivery, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, with travel within the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience managing projects and teams across geographies.
• Proven operations leadership in a technical consulting environment.
• Experience developing practice-level business plans and achieving outcomes.
• Strong client management, business development and multi-disciplinary bid execution skills.
• Ability to travel within the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Geotechnical Engineering practice with authenticity, purpose, and vigour.
• Drive growth in line with market trends and opportunities, and manage resourcing for growth.
• Maintain KPIs across financial metrics and manage project backlog.
• Provide mentorship and staff leadership across geographies.
• Engage with clients to develop technical scopes of work, proposals, and timely delivery.
• Promote collaboration across practices and regions.
