Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Atlanta, GA team. You will provide technical leadership on major geotechnical and transportation projects, mentor staff, and help grow the practice.

You will review reports, manage field explorations, and collaborate with leadership to expand the transportation portfolio while ensuring compliance with DOT GDM and AASHTO LRFD.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of geotechnical and transportation engineering experience.
• PE license required; PG license may be acceptable based on state requirements.
• Experience with DOT GDM and AASHTO LRFD specifications.
• Proven senior technical reviewer on previous projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the final technical reviewer and signatory for geotechnical reports, designs and analyses.
• Oversee development of geotechnical reports and design packages, providing seal as Engineer of Record.
• Provide technical expertise for geotechnical staff across the branch and region, focusing on regs.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, technicians, designers, and project managers.
• Lead complex designs for slope stability, foundations, retaining structures, and settlements.
• Direct field exploration activities, including drilling, test pits, and site inspections.
• Drive business development by attending client meetings and expanding transportation portfolio.
• Collaborate with the Associate Principal review committee to mentor future leadership candidates.
