Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in the Atlanta metro area seeks a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead technical reviews, design coordination, and delivery of geotechnical work for GDOT transportation projects. You will translate subsurface data into actionable recommendations while coordinating deliverables across multiple teams.

The role focuses on project execution from kickoff to closeout, managing scope, schedule and budget, and supporting client relationships to grow GDOT and municipal work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with increasing responsibility for technical deliverables.
• Passed FE or current EIT - or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience preparing or reviewing geotechnical reports, including analyses and recommendations.
• Working knowledge of subsurface exploration methods, lab testing programs, and interpretation of results.
• Ability to manage project priorities with limited supervision, including schedule and budget awareness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining recommendations to non-geotechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Review and QA/QC geotechnical reports for transportation projects.
• Review geotechnical design elements for GDOT projects with schedules and constructability in mind.
• Manage project execution from kickoff through closeout (scope, schedule, budget, deliverables).
• Coordinate with subcontractors (drilling firms, labs, consultants) including procurement oversight.
• Lead technical coordination with clients, design teams, and construction teams.
