Engineering Consulting Service (ECS) is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to support GDOT transportation and highway programs across the Atlanta metro area, focusing on technical review, design coordination, and delivery of geotechnical work products for roadway, bridge, and corridor projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with increasing responsibility for technical deliverables.
• FE exam passed or EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing geotechnical reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Knowledge of subsurface exploration methods, lab tests, and interpretation of results.

Responsibilities

• Review and QA/QC geotechnical reports for transportation projects, including site characterization, analyses, and design recommendations.
• Review GDOT highway project plans and geotechnical design elements for alignment with constraints, schedules and constructability.
• Manage project execution from kickoff through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget and deliverables.
• Coordinate with subcontractors (drilling firms, labs, specialty consultants) including procurement support and oversight of schedules.
• Lead technical coordination with clients, design teams and construction teams to resolve geotechnical questions and provide timely solutions.
• Develop geotechnical scopes of work and fee estimates, including proposals, budgets, change orders and invoicing.
• Provide technical support on GDOT deliverables such as subsurface exploration planning, soil/rock classification, and earthwork/foundation recommendations.
• Track project priorities and deadlines, escalate risks early and keep deliverables on schedule.
• Partner with leadership on client relationship building and repeat work growth in GDOT and municipal markets.
