Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Geological Engineering Intern to support design and construction activities for large energy infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and data centers. The role is office-based with occasional site visits.

You will assist with geological site characterization, geologic risk analysis, and subsurface characterization for foundation design.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field with a focus on structural design.
• Completed coursework in civil engineering fundamentals (e.g., geotechnical, structures, concrete, steel).
• Familiarity with structural modeling software such as LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with desktop-based geologic research, interpreting data collected from a variety of public and private sources.
• Assist with the collection and interpretation data derived from geotechnical characterization programs.
• Assist in geological and geotechnical data processing and data analysis.
• Participate in developing geologic and geotechnical project documentation.
• Collaborate with structural and geotechnical engineers and construction managers to ensure project goals are met.
• Perform basic research on geologic and geotechnical topics, and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
• Attend team meetings and learn about design-build (DB) and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery methods.
