Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group in Spokane Valley is seeking a Geological Engineering Intern to support design and construction activities for large energy infrastructure projects. You will assist with geological site characterization, geologic risk analysis, and subsurface characterization for foundations, under guidance from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field with a focus on structural design.
• Completed coursework in civil engineering fundamentals (e.g., geotechnical, structures, concrete, steel).
• Familiarity with structural modeling software such as LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist with desktop-based geologic research, interpreting data collected from a variety of public and private sources.
• Assist with the collection and interpretation data derived from geotechnical characterization programs.
• Assist in geological and geotechnical data processing and data analysis.
• Participate in developing geologic and geotechnical project documentation.
• Collaborate with structural and geotechnical engineers and construction managers to ensure project goals are met.
• Perform basic research on geologic and geotechnical topics, and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
• Attend team meetings and learn about design-build (DB) and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery methods.
