Job summary

Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Geotechnical Engineering to join its Orlando team. This role provides hands-on support on geotechnical projects, site feasibility studies, and fieldwork alongside senior leadership to develop practical engineering skills.

The position offers mentoring, exposure to design plans, AutoCAD, report preparation, and opportunities to participate in data collection and analyses while advancing academic studies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, geotechnical coursework preferred
• GPA 3.0+ preferred
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking and judgment abilities
• Able to work independently and in a team; travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations (borings, test pits, sampling)
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities and ensure conformance with plans
• Identify and implement solutions to field/lab problems
• Prepare standard logs and field forms (drill/test pit logs, dailies, chain of custody)
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches
• Perform calculations and learn engineering analyses; use geotechnical software
• Prepare reports, exhibits, and plans using AutoCAD
• Document field investigations and analytical results
• Performs other duties as requested
