Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated staff geotechnical engineer located in Reno, Nevada, to support surface mining operations and heavy civil infrastructure design. This role demands a strong background in geotechnical evaluations, with responsibilities including planning and overseeing geotechnical exploration and testing programs.

The ideal candidate will hold a BA/BS degree, possess relevant experience, and preferably have a PE License. Compensation is set at $85,000 annually, with no provisions for relocation or sponsorship.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and performs portions of complex projects.
• Performs geotechnical evaluations including material characterization.
• Prepares and presents technical presentations of evaluation results.

Skills

Proficient in industry software such as GeoStudio

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills

Education
