Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical specialty).
• MS or PhD Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering).
• 7 to 14 years of Geotechnical Engineer experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state where the office is located.
• Mentoring and supervisory experience.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel to support other Shannon & Wilson offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple clients, contracts, and projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses, studies, and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports.
• Conduct field explorations, collect samples, and map geologic features.
• Provide construction observation and document logs.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Lead, mentor, supervise engineers and staff.
• Review junior engineer reports and calculations.
• Support business development and marketing activities.
