Burns & McDonnell in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to support licensed professionals on a variety of projects, assisting with field reconnaissance, data collection, and the preparation of geotechnical design calculations and reports.

You will participate in shallow and deep foundation design, slope stability analyses, and earthwork considerations under supervision, with opportunities for growth and exposure to diverse sectors within a collaborative team environment.

Formación

• ABET-accredited civil engineering program is strongly preferred.
• Master's degree with geotechnical emphasis is preferred.
• Previous internship or consulting experience is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work analytically in a quantitative environment.

Responsabilidades

• Assist field reconnaissance and data collection for geotechnical analyses.
• Help develop work scopes and subcontracting for subsurface investigations.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and construction documents.
• Support geotechnical design from concept through design completion.
• Assist in hazard assessments, foundation design, settlement and slope analyses.
