Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support projects within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers. This role focuses on geotechnical designs for utility infrastructure and will contribute to client success through technical excellence and timely delivery.

Based in a multi-site environment, you’ll work across locations including Chicago, Oak Brook, Norristown or Philadelphia, PA, and other HBK offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• Minimum of 5 years in geotechnical engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and solid analytical/judgement capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Mathcad and design software PYWall, LPILE, SLIDE.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed calculations and documentation for earth retention designs.
• Prepare and review calculations for shallow and deep foundations, bearing capacity, and slope stability.
• Perform dewatering design.
• Coordinate drilling and lab testing.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to resolve design challenges and support project development.
• Maintain organized project electronic files and archives.
• Contribute to proposal preparation.
