Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support heavy civil and transportation projects from Virginia Beach, VA. You will perform field testing, analyze subsurface data, and contribute to design efforts for foundations, slopes, and pavement, under senior guidance.

Responsibilities include data reporting, collaboration with our geotechnical group, and participation in design-build pursuits across ICE's southeastern projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical concentration is required.
• EIT certification is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and geotechnical software is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Pre-employment screening is required; ICE is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform field foundation and geotechnical testing, analyze data, and report results under supervision.
• Primarily work in Virginia with projects across the Southeast.
• Collaborate with geotechnical group and assist design as needed.
• Maintain organized documentation of design files, drawings, and submittals.
• Foster proactive communication with the geotechnical group, clients, and subconsultants.
• Provide construction assistance and respond to RFIs as necessary.
• Engage in design-build pursuits across all ICE states.
• Provide mentorship and training to geotechnical staff in areas of expertise.
• Attend conferences as needed.
