Job summary

Jobot is seeking a geotechnical professional in Kirkland, WA to support field investigations, report drafting, and lab testing for large residential, commercial, and public works projects. You will collaborate with our team, provide cost estimates, and engage with clients on project needs.

Requirements include a Civil or Geological Engineering degree and FE/EIT status; a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. Travel to sites and occasional lifting are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering required.
• FE/EIT exam completed or scheduled.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations (test pits, test borings, slope reconnaissance, hand augers).
• Draft geotechnical engineering reports.
• Prepare cost estimates and proposals.
• Perform lab testing and analyses for construction projects.
• Attend project meetings with clients.
• Travel to project sites, including remote areas, as needed.

Job Details

As a member of the team, you will contribute by:

• Performing geotechnical field investigations including Test Pits, Test Borings, Slope Reconnaissance, and hand augers.
• Drafting geotechnical engineering reports
• Preparing cost estimates and proposals (this can be left on with the understanding that this comes after we confirm the skill set)
• Performing routine tests and computations associated with geotechnical engineering, and field observations
• Performing laboratory testing and analyses in support of construction and geotechnical engineering projects
• Attending project meetings, both in-house and with clients
• Occasional travel and work in remote areas under adverse conditions
• Occasional lifting of approximately 75 pounds

Qualifications:

• 1-8 years of experience for
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related engineering field; Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related is preferred
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam or scheduled
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
