Job summary

UES is looking for a Driller's Assistant to support geotechnical drilling operations, site investigations, and soil testing. The role involves operating, maintaining, and transporting drilling equipment while following safety guidelines and project specifications.

Travel to various project sites is required, including potential overnight stays. The candidate should be mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 to 3 years of Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Field Services experience preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA training preferred; must pass OSHA 40HR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection software.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, manuals, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test soil, concrete, and construction materials per specs.
• Ensure testing equipment functions and calibration cycles are followed.
• Operate drills, rigs, and cleaning equipment.
• Perform manual tasks, assemble/disassemble drilling equipment, and set up rigs.
• Maintain vehicles and document labor and time daily.
• Communicate project details and times accurately; submit reports on time.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines; use PPE as required.
• Travel to job sites; adjust to overnight or extended shifts when needed.
