Job summary

UES in Florida seeks a Driller's Assistant to support geotechnical drilling operations, assist with soil exploration, well installations, and site investigations. You will operate and maintain drilling equipment and help ensure safety and compliance on project sites.

This role requires outdoor work, occasional overnight and weekend shifts, and travel to project sites regionally. You will gain hands-on experience in field operations, equipment handling, and reporting under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Sciences Field Services preferred.
• OSHA 40-hour training preferred; must pass OSHA 40HR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Basic computer proficiency including MS Office and Field Data Collection software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform strenuous outdoor labor.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test soil, concrete, and other construction materials to project specifications.
• Ensure testing equipment is functioning, calibrated, and maintained.
• Operate drilling tools and equipment, including jackhammers and pressure washers.
• Assemble/disassemble drilling equipment; rig setup and site preparation.
• Maintain and clean drilling rigs and vehicles; adhere to safety standards.
