Job summary

Terracon in Portland, Oregon is seeking Exploration Team Members to perform subsurface exploration duties using drilling and in-situ testing. You will operate a geotechnical drill rig to advance boreholes, oversee a 2-person crew, and install monitoring wells on diverse projects.

This field role requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant drilling experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within 30 days of employment.
• Some states require specific driller/well installation licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate a geotechnical drill rig to advance shallow boreholes in soil.
• Oversee a 2-person drill crew on all drilling operations.
• Install instrumentation and monitoring wells.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct basic surveying, site reconnaissance, and utility clearance.
• Transport drilling equipment to job locations and back.
• Inspect equipment and ensure safety and quality standards.
