Job summary

Terracon seeks Exploration Team Members to perform subsurface exploration using various drilling and in-situ testing techniques. You will be part of a multi-person team, operating drill rigs and installing instrumentation across projects in the region.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years of drilling experience, and the ability to obtain DOT medical clearance. Valid driver’s license and licensure requirements may apply in some states.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Proficient in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling methods.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Many states require specific driller/well installation licensure.
• DOT Medical Card within first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a geotechnical drill rig to advance boreholes to required depths.
• Oversee a 2 or 3 person drill crew in all tasks associated with drilling operations.
• Be proficient in multiple drilling methods common to the region.
• Install instrumentation and monitoring wells.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on drilling equipment.
• Perform surveying, site reconnaissance, and utility clearance tasks.
• Drive drilling equipment to project locations.
• Inspect and complete routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in project preparation and pre-task planning.
• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
