Job summary

The Geotechnical Engineer I at Michels Construction, under general supervision, supports senior engineers and CAD technicians to develop design submittals for deep foundations and ground improvement systems.

You will apply geotechnical and structural engineering principles with analytical methods and modeling software, contributing to bids and QA/QC during production, with emphasis on detail and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or geotechnical engineering.
• 0–3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Mathcad.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop design submittals for deep foundations and ground improvement systems.
• Apply geotechnical and structural engineering principles using analytical methods and modeling software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and CAD technicians.
• Assist with preliminary engineering during bid-time and QA/QC during production.
