Job summary

The role involves field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregate) and learning to read and interpret construction specifications and plans, with opportunities to obtain related certifications in materials testing.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be current college students in building construction, construction technology, construction management, geotechnical/civil/structural engineering, or related field.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to complete laboratory and field tests; basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software; ability to read and interpret construction specifications and plans.

Responsibilities

• Field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and other materials).
• Learn to read and interpret construction specifications and plans and pursue related certifications for materials testing.
• Work with the Geotechnical Engineering team on subsurface investigations with exploration drilling crews.
• Position may require up to 40 hours per week during the summer, with potential for part-time work or a co-op in Fall 2027.
