Job summary

S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. invites current students to join our White River Junction, Vermont internship for summer 2027. You will perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials under the guidance of our experienced team.

Eligible students are pursuing civil, geotechnical or structural engineering, construction management, or related fields and may work up to full-time hours during the summer, with potential part-time or co-op options in fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a 2- or 4-year program in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, construction management or related field.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions for laboratory and field tests.
• Familiarity with basic computers and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregate) on diverse projects.
• Learn to read and interpret construction specifications and plans; obtain related certifications for materials testing.
• Collaborate with Geotechnical Engineering team on subsurface investigations where applicable.
