S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Internship for Summer 2027 to be based in Boylston, MA.

You will perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials and learn how to read construction specifications and plans. The role offers exposure to geotechnical investigations and subsurface sampling, with potential for a fall co-op. Current students in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, construction management or related field are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, construction management or related field.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and read construction specifications and plans.
• Willingness to learn and apply basic math, data recording, and reporting skills.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregate).
• Learn to read and interpret construction specs and plans.
• Work up to 40 hours per week in summer; potential for fall co-op or part-time work.
• Assist Geotechnical team with subsurface investigations and drilling crews.
