S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc.

is accepting applications for an Internship to be based at our office in Bangor, Maine during the summer of 2027 for students in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, construction management or related field. The selected candidate will work as a Construction Services Field and Laboratory Technician. This position involves field and laboratory testing of construction materials and learning to interpret specifications and plans.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college program related to civil/geotechnical/structural engineering or construction management.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and learn new software or tools.
• Good verbal and written communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory tests on soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt and aggregates.
• Learn to read and interpret construction specifications and plans.
• Record data accurately and communicate results to project team; may pursue related certifications.
