invites motivated college students to apply for a Summer Internship based in Gray, Maine, supporting the Construction Services Field and Laboratory team. Interns will perform soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt and other material tests on a variety of projects and learn to read construction specifications and plans. The internship provides hands-on field and lab testing experience, potential certifications for material testing, and exposure to subsurface

Qualifications

• Current college student pursuing civil/geotechnical/structural engineering or related field.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to complete tests and procedures.
• Willingness to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good verbal and written communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregates and other materials on active projects.
• Learn to read and interpret construction specifications and plans; assist in obtaining related certifications for construction materials testing.
• Collaborate with the Geotechnical Engineering team on subsurface investigations when needed.
