Job summary

Atlas in Alabama is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, analyses and design efforts supporting critical infrastructure. You will manage projects, mentor staff and collaborate with clients and regulators to deliver safe, high-quality geotechnical solutions.

The role requires a Bachelors or Masters in civil engineering, 5+ years geotechnical experience, PE license in Alabama, and the ability to travel across the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama.
Local experience with Alabama engineering practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage geotechnical projects, resources and staff with technical leadership.
Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses and design for infrastructure and buildings.
Direct subsurface explorations, laboratory testing and data evaluation to support project delivery.
Oversee geotechnical engineering analyses including foundation design and slope stability assessments.
Provide geotechnical oversight during construction activities and regulatory coordination.
Mentor junior engineers and support business development.
Travel across Alabama to support project needs.
